This website and personal weather station are built to share weather data for remote areas such as Bettamugilalam where the closest weather station is over 50 km away and the predictions along with current readings provided by many weather websites aren’t very accurate. Maybe someday, with enough data, we will be able to build our prediction model and be able to get more accurate predictions that will go a long way in helping farmers! The station displays data starting from 05 April 2024 as that is when it was brought online.
This website is automatically updated in real-time (about every 2.5 seconds) with weather observations from a home-brewed Raspberry Pi Personal Weather Station. The weather station provides the following readings:
- Temperature (external - air and ground)
- Humidity
- Wind speed
- Wind direction
- Rainfall
- Barometric Pressure
The rest of the observations on this website are done via software calculations and quality control checks to make sure the data is valid.
